Two actors starring in Avengers: Doomsday reportedly aren’t on very good terms.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is currently in production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the MCU film will arrive in United States theaters on December 18, 2026. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, then follows on December 17, 2027.
What reportedly happened on the Avengers: Doomsday set?
On a recent episode of The Hot Mic, Jeff Sneider commented on some “dysfunction” he’s heard about on the Avengers: Doomsday set.
“The dysfunction I’ve heard on this set is rivaled only by that of Fast and Furious movies,” Sneider said. “I mean, we’ve alluded to an incident behind the scenes early in shooting that I did not want to go into details on. It was probably that someone made it sound more dramatic to me than it really was…There’s a lot of testosterone and a lot of ego on that set. A lot of people who think they know what way is the best way. In the end, there’s only one person’s way who matters, and that’s actually Robert Downey Jr.”
ComicBookMovie further reported that they heard word of “a clash between two particular actors” that became “became so heated that certain scenes involving their respective characters had to be altered or removed from the script entirely.”
Appearing on a recent episode of The Kristian Harloff Show, The Hot Mic’s John Rocha shed some more light on the situation.
“They are two pretty big actors,” Rocha said. “Apparently, a comment — from what I understand — a comment was made in jest that was a bit too familiar because these actors didn’t know each other that well and crossed a line. One of the actors got really upset about it, confronted the other actor…And that caused a big rift and battle. I’m just going to leave it at two very outspoken actors went at each other.”
Rocha said that, as far as he understands, while there were talks of reworking things so these two actors didn’t have to shoot scenes together, Marvel helped ease some of the tensions, and apologies were eventually exchanged.
“From what I understand, there’s been no other incident between those two actors that I have heard,” he added. “Maybe there has been, but I have not heard anything. [The initial incident] was a pretty big blow-up, apparently.”
