The council of The Bar of Ireland has defended presidential candidate Catherine Connolly as she faces questions about whether she acted as a barrister for banks in repossession cases.
The representative body for the barristers’ profession in Ireland came out in support of Ms Connolly in terms of her right to represent any person or organisation regardless of “personal interests or external pressure”.
