When you start as a musician, reasons Niall Breslin (the man who in some people’s minds will forever be known as Bressie), there are natural levels of purity, rawness, naivete and hope. You might doubt your skills, your aspirations, but you rarely, if ever, interrogate them.

To a backdrop of mist-enveloped trees and what looks like a glassy, glacial lake, sitting in a room with a piano alongside one wall of it, Breslin reckons the exhilaration of those early exploratory days is intoxicating.
