A brand-new collection of 50 stories celebrating Donegal’s creative spirit will officially launch this November.
The book titled Leap is the brainchild of Ramelton artist / designer Laura Buchanan and author / editor Isla McGuckin from Portsalon. The fully illustrated book contains fifty original narratives, carefully curated from architects, poets, musicians, artists, writers, designers, weavers, and many more creatives with a Donegal connection.

Isla and Laura said, “Leap began as an idea, back in June, but it snowballed quickly. The enthusiasm from everyone we mentioned our idea to was infectious. Their encouragement motivated us to keep going, to create a book that we’re both incredibly proud of and one that we hope will inspire fledgling and established creatives alike.”
Leap is brought to life by Laura’s signature artwork style, colour, pattern and playful typography make the illustrated pages pop.
Isla is a writer and workshop / community events’ facilitator whose children’s books have received critical acclaim for tackling some of the complex social challenges that contemporary children face.
