EastEnders is set to give the Slaters an unexpected blast from the past next week, as Halloween night brings to the surface mysterious footage from over three decades ago. With Kat and Zoe’s relationship more strained than ever, the family is in complete turmoil – but what could an old VHS tape uncover?

The week begins with Kat mulling over what to do about a bombshell confession from Zoe, but Alfie warns his wife to keep out of it.

“It’s a dramatic end to the quiz night,” explains our EastEnders source. “After Kat sends shockwaves through the pub, she realises how much Zoe’s behaviour is impacting her business and family. With that weighing on her mind, Kat offers Zoe a huge ultimatum – but what could it be?”

Following the chaotic turn of events, people want answers – including Ian who had transferred money to help track down Zoe’s long-lost son, knowing how much it means to Sharon.

Later in the week, Halloween arrives in Walford, but Alfie is preoccupied with a burst sewer pipe in the barrel store. While cleaning up, the landlord finds a video tape from the 1980s – but who and what does it contain?

“Afterwards, Alfie turns his focus to reuniting Jean, Kat and Zoe, which leads Kat to forgive her daughter, but Jean ends up falling out with Kat,” reveals our insider.

“Halloween night then kicks off at the Vic, where Ross arrives with a video player to play Alfie’s tape. Kat, however, decides not to play it in case it upsets Zoe…”

However, Zoe is later is mortified to find the VHS footage playing and chucks everyone out. Kat denies playing the video, before Anthony admits his concern for Zoe.

Halloween night continues, and with Jean helping Lily with young Charli, Kat, Zoe and Tommy hit play on the video from 1988.
