As part of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, a targeted call has recently been launched to consolidate European leadership in quantum computing and to accelerate the development of quantum platforms on an industrial scale.This call is part of the broader commitment of the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) to equip Europe with cutting-edge technological infrastructure. This network already includes world-class supercomputers, such as the Leonardo system installed in Italy, and is complemented by a rapidly developing quantum computing infrastructure.

Specifically, the “Quantum Grand Challenge” call targets European startups operating in the quantum sector, aiming to promote integrated hardware-software quantum computing solutions and strengthen Europe’s competitive position in the field.
