Alshahrani assumed his current position in November 2023. In March 2025, the cluster commissioned the Jazan Specialized Hospital. In July 2025, Jazan Specialist Hospital launched the first Sleep Medicine Unit in the Southern Region, aimed at diagnosing and managing sleep-related disorders. This aims to enhances care quality, reduces external referrals, and aligns with the region’s strategy for specialized service delivery. Alshahrani is also the General Director of Jazan Specialized Hospital.
