GARDAI, firefighters and paramedics have all rushed to a road traffic collision on the outskirts of Limerick city this Friday afternoon.
It occurred around 3pm on the Ballysimon Road – between the Groody Roundabout and the Ballysimon interchange.

One person, who is caught up in the backlog, told Limerick Live: “Traffic is chaos and it’s approaching rush hour on a bank holiday weekend too when some people will be leaving early.”
It is not known, at this time, how many vehicles are involved, or the seriousness of any injuries suffered, if any.

Gardai have been contacted for comment.
