General Hospital featured a One Life to Live reunion this week that fans have been waiting to have happen.
After weeks of Erika Slezak being on-screen as Ronnie, she was reunited with her One Life to Live son, Chris McKenna, who plays Jack on General Hospital. Slezak played the legendary Victoria Lord on the ABC soap, while McKenna played her young son, Joey.
On General Hospital, fans watched Ronnie walk into Bobbie’s to find Jack sitting there and called him Joey, in a nod to their One Life to Live time. In the scene, Jack tells Ronnie that’s not his name, and they meet for the first time.
However, thanks to McKenna, fans can see a different version of that scene. The actor took to Instagram to reveal a blooper where he responded as Joey from One Life to Live instead of Jack on General Hospital.
“Mom, I’m working,” he said, referencing Joey and Vicki from One Life to Live. McKenna then broke character to look at the camera, smiling to say, “I couldn’t resist. I am sorry.”
McKenna wrote, “Most magical moment #GH” as the caption on the laugh-out-loud video.
Soap fans flooded the comments section of McKenna’s Instagram share to react to the blooper and to seeing him on screen with Slezak again after all these years.
“That outtake . Priceless. This scene today (the real one) was something so special. The writing was perfect. For those of us ONE LIFE TO LIVE fans you two knocked it out of the park. Thank you,” shared a fan.
Another fan said, “This was such a beautiful moment today seeing Ronnie call out Joey and he looking at her while the writers referencing the mother/son bond of One Life to Live for us diehard fans. It was just so great!!! Fabulous outtake!”

“I was so so happy when she said Joey! I still miss One Life To Live and today’s scene brought so much joy to my heart!,” insisted a fan. One fan expressed, “Love it! I’m so happy you have that outtake.”
A different fan stated, “One Life To Live was one of my favourite soaps back in the day.” “This part was great!! 🙌Love, loved it! ❤️” and “I love how she called you Joey. This was so great!!!!” were other comments left on the social media share.
There’s no question that soap fans were given a gift to see Slezak and McKenna in scenes together after all these years. Slezak’s time on General Hospital is coming to an end, so that makes the moment even more special for One Life to Live fans.
