Student is latest victim of ATM theft in which Irish ‘tourists’ con people out of large sums of money

The stranger was tall and well-built, with striking blue eyes and a strong Irish accent. He approached a French university student on his way to class in the centre of Toulouse earlier last month, and introduced himself politely in English.
He was from Ireland, on holidays in the south of France, he said, and had been pickpocketed in a local bar, adding that all his money and bank cards had been taken and that he was stranded.
