STAFF of a drinks firm founded by a Limerick couple are celebrating this week after the company secured a €50,000 bursary.

Trade group Guaranteed Irish and Supervalu have announced SiSú Drinks as the winner of the 2025 Guaranteed Irish and SuperValu Media Bursary.

It’s a fund created to boost the media presence of an outstanding Guaranteed Irish food or drink member.

It will give SiSú the chance to advertise across Supervalu’s in-store digital screens as well as its other communications channels.

SiSú, a Finnnish term which refers to a combination of stoic determination, resilience, and grit in the face of adversity, was founded by the McGann family in Limerick, father-and-daughter team Brian and Aisling.

It is now based in Co Wicklow.

Aisling McGann, who is the chief operations officer of the firm, said: “As an emerging Irish food brand with a big ambition to inspire healthier choices through natural, innovative & good-for-you products, this bursary will make a meaningful difference. It will help us grow our reach, connect with more consumers, and continue building our brand that stands for health, strength, and sustainability. It’s a proud moment for our family, our team and our hugely loyal following.”

Brid O’Connell, chief executive of Guaranteed Irish described SiSú as a “shining example” of what her group represents.
