Irish ambassador to Kenya Caitríona Ingoldsby officially opened the new trauma centre in Londiani

An Irish doctor responding to the deaths of 52 people in a truck collision in Kenya has helped spearhead the provision of a new trauma centre at a local hospital.

Dr Bridget Hughes, an orthopaedic surgeon at Mayo University Hospital, worked with Irish charity Brighter Communities Worldwide (BCW) to provide a trauma centre at Londiani in Kenya.
