Min Hee Jin On NewJeans’ Decision To Rejoin ADOR And The Label’s Handling Of It
According to the statement, Min Hee Jin has been consistently adamant that NewJeans should remain separated from the conflict between herself and HYBE, stating that members should not be used for the bigger dispute, and their well-being is important.
Attorney Noh, Min’s lawyer, explained that in the discussion, Min Hee Jin had already known that all five members of NewJeans would have to return to ADOR per the court decision. She is said to have reached out to the girls personally, congratulated them, and advised them to continue promotions confidently under the label.
Min Hee Jin also believed that, since the appeal deadline had passed and the intentions of all members seemed to coincide, this was a natural result. This is why she was reportedly surprised when ADOR publicly portrayed the situation as if there was a division in the members’ decision, indicating only three had clear intentions. Through her legal representatives, Min said she believed such framing was uncalled for.
About The Conflict
The conflict between NewJeans and ADOR began in November 2024 when members declared the annulment of their exclusive contract, citing mistreatment. In response, ADOR filed a lawsuit the following month, claiming the group had attempted to violate the contract without proper grounds.
Both sides engaged in various lawsuits for almost a year, until the court recently confirmed that, indeed, the label’s exclusive contract with NewJeans was valid up until its original end date.
