James McClean in action for Wrexham
Derry City are strongly exploring the possibility of a move to bring James McClean back to the club in the New Year if his situation at Wrexham does not change.
McClean has been starved of game-time at Wrexham after their promotion to the Championship, even though he signed a contract extension at the beginning of the season which commits him to the Hollywood-owned Welsh club until the summer of 2027.
