For weeks, Spirit has been surrounded by whispers, speculative reports and unexpected exits, but director Sandeep Reddy Vanga finally put all conversation to rest by officially launching the film with a grand muhurat ceremony in Hyderabad on Sunday. While the project has remained one of the most closely watched Bollywood–Telugu collaborations of the year, fans were treated to a fresh surge of excitement with strong reports claiming that Ranbir Kapoor will appear in the Prabhas-starrer in a special cameo.

The first schedule opened with an elaborate traditional ceremony attended by megastar Chiranjeevi, who was invited as the chief guest. Photos from the event showed Vanga and the cast seeking blessings before beginning work on the high-profile action drama.
According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, Ranbir Kapoor, who previously headlined Vanga’s blockbuster Animal, is expected to appear at a crucial point in Spirit. The report describes his cameo as a key narrative twist and a moment that will be “historic” because Ranbir and Prabhas have never shared screen space before. A source told the publication, “Ranbir will come into the picture at a crucial juncture of the storytelling. It will be a turning point in the plot and a historic moment in Indian cinema since he has never shared screen space with Prabhas.”
The launch event also featured Chiranjeevi performing the traditional clap, with Vanga later expressing gratitude. He wrote, “Heartfelt thank you to our MEGASTAR CHIRANJEEVI sir for blessing the event with his presence. Sir….. your gesture is unforgettable we all love you.”
Triptii Dimri, who came on board as the female lead following Deepika Padukone’s exit, joined the ceremony alongside cast members Vivek Oberoi, Prakash Raj and Kanchana. Though Prabhas did not attend, Vanga shared a photo of him holding the clapboard and wrote, “Dear fans… I thought PRABHAS anna’s hands were enough to EXCITE YOU ALL…… So on this muhurath day, I’m posting this for you with gratitude and love. SPIRIT.”
Spirit has been making headlines for months, especially after Deepika Padukone stepped away from the film, reportedly due to disagreement over an eight-hour workday. She later exited Kalki 2898 AD 2 as well, another major project featuring Prabhas.
