This update isn’t radical, but it’s refined in all the right ways

Ask any Tesla devotee about the company’s recent dip in car sales and they’ll offer a familiar explanation: it wasn’t waning demand, negative headlines or CEO Elon Musk’s increasingly polarising public image, nor did it have anything to do with the frankly staggering revelations in the ‘Tesla Files’. Instead, they’ll say, customers were simply waiting.
Waiting, specifically, for this car. The newly updated Tesla Model Y, the world’s bestselling vehicle in 2023 and our test car this week. Built at Tesla’s expanded Berlin Gigafactory and featuring a series of refinements, both inside and out, the refreshed Model Y is Tesla’s attempt to maintain its lead in an increasingly competitive electric vehicle market. So was it worth the wait?
