Micheál Carrigy TD has spoken of his family’s devastation at losing both his uncle Michael (left) and first cousin (Shane) right inside the space of 48 hours.

A government TD has revealed how his family has been plunged into the “most immense shock and grief” following the deaths of his uncle and first cousin within days of one another.

Longford-Westmeath TD, Micheál Carrigy, told of how his world was turned upside down within the space of 48 hours with the loss of father and son Michael and Shane Carrigy over the course of the past number of days.
