Two leading anti-immigration influencers are generating considerable personal income by selling merchandise, memberships and seeking donations to fund and grow their nationalist ideologies, according to a new report.

Compiled by the Hope and Courage Collective (HCC), which monitors the far-right and disinformation in Ireland, it is due to be published this week.

It has profiled two men it describes as among “the agitators and vloggers fuelling Ireland’s far-right” while simultaneously “creating a business model” to turn a profit.

So, who are Niall McConnell and Keith Woods and how exactly are they cashing in on their anti-immigrant ideology?

How much sway do they hold in the online world?

What can politicians do to counter the growing movement?

And will social media companies ever help tackle the issue?

Today on the Indo Daily, Kevin Doyle is joined by Ali Bracken, senior news journalist for the Sunday Independent, to discuss how a new breed of influencers is cashing in on anti-immigrant ideology.
