A mother is facing serious charges in what has been described as “one of the most serious” cases of child sexual abuse, after her 11 year old daughter was forced to give birth.

Cherie Walker, aged 33, was initially arrested and charged with one count of child neglect when her young daughter was compelled to carry a baby full term and deliver at their home on Saturday, 16 August.

“This is one of the most if not the most serious child sexual abuse and neglect cases I have ever prosecuted,” stated Muskogee County Assistant District Attorney Janet Hutson.

The child had not seen a doctor for a year, including throughout her entire pregnancy. Cherie’s partner, Dustin Walker, 34, was also taken into custody and charged with child sexual abuse at their Muskogee residence, as reported by NBC.

Initially, the couple claimed ignorance about the child’s pregnancy, despite the fact that she hadn’t visited a doctor in over a year. Shockingly, DNA tests later confirmed that the stepfather was a 99.9% match to the newborn’s father, reports the Express.

Following these test results, conducted by the Muskogee County District Attorney’s Office, the charges were revised on Monday, 25 August.

Dustin is now accused of sexually abusing the 11-year-old girl between January and August, resulting in her perilously carrying a baby to term, according to court documents. Her mother, Cherie, faces charges of enabling child sexual abuse.

The pair also face six counts of felony child neglect, which include allegations of failing to provide their 11-year-old daughter with proper medical care and supervision. Court documents reveal the girl received no professional medical attention and was compelled to deliver her baby at home.

The other five child neglect charges relate to the couple’s five children together, aged two, four, six, seven and nine. According to court documents, the victims were discovered living amongst dog faeces and were without clothing.

All neglect cases span the period between January and August. The youngsters were “living in deplorable conditions,” the documents state.

Court records show the children were taken from the property on Tuesday 19 August. Both Dustin and Cherie had their bail set at $100,000 each, according to court records.

“Each of the charges against both defendants are punishable by up to life,” Hutson stated.

It remains unclear whether Dustin and Cherie Walker have legal representation.
