Filmmaker Siddharth Anand shared his admiration for Dhurandhar in a detailed note on social media, praising the film’s craft and the conviction behind its making. Calling the film “nasha,” Anand wrote that it “stays for long with you” and leaves the viewer wanting more.

In his review, he highlighted the contribution of every department involved, noting that each seemed to be operating at its peak. He attributed this cohesion to director Aditya Dhar’s clarity and passion, which he said was visible in “every frame.” Anand also pointed out specific scenes that, in his words, were executed “like a seasoned maestro,” adding that the performances stood out because the actors had “submitted and allowed their best to be extracted.”
The filmmaker concluded his note by sharing that he intends to revisit the film in theatres, something he said he hasn’t felt compelled to do “for years.” Responding to the appreciation, Aditya Dhar wrote, “Thanks so much Siddharth Sir! It was indeed an incredible team effort.”

Starring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and Sara Arjun, Dhurandhar released on December 5, 2025. The film is backed by Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar’s B62 Studios in association with Jio Studios, with Aditya Dhar serving as the writer and director.
The conversation around Siddharth Anand’s praise also revived an earlier debate that emerged when the film’s teaser dropped. A section of users on social media had criticised Bollywood’s “glamourised” approach to spy thrillers, often referencing Anand’s own Pathaan. Under Dhar’s reply to Anand, one user wrote, “Haters were bashing Pathaan and Fighter and see how much respect these guys have for each other. Now enjoy Dhurandhar and support King. Bollywood is the only winner here.” Another commented, “You are being too kind Adityaji, you know and even he knows who is a better filmmaker.”
Meanwhile, Dhurandhar is performing strongly at the box office. The film has registered its best numbers in national multiplex chains—PVR Inox and Cinepolis—which together account for nearly 60% of its total business so far. The film also marks Ranveer Singh’s major return to the big screen, with many noting that Aditya Dhar has tapped into his theatrical potential as both an actor and a star.
