Mila Kunisand her husband Ashton Kutcher may have the ability to buy each other extravagant gifts—but she says that’s not the way they do things.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show on Monday (Dec. 8), Kunis shared that she and Kutcher have imposed strict rules when it comes to anniversary gifts so that they don’t go overboard.

“There’s, like, limitations and budgets to it,” Kunis explained. “Because neither one of us is, like, big on gift-giving, but also we can go overboard. It’s very extreme.”

Kunis went on to share that they limit themselves to homemade gifts with a spending limit of under $150. While Kunis doesn’t see herself as very crafty, she admits she found a way to get around the homemade part of the deal.

“It can also be homemade by someone else…That’s the loophole I found early in this process,” Kunis revealed.

As the couple celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary this year, Kunis also opened up about the thoughtful gifts that they got one another. With the symbol of a decade of marriage being tin, Kunis says she turned to Etsy for her handmade gift.

“Ashton loves the Chicago Bears. So for the anniversary, I got him a Tin Man from Wizard of Oz made of, like, sardine cans and pea cans, and it’s all of Chicago Bears. It’s really cute. It’s really good,” Kunis shared.

As for what Kutcher crafted, Kunis says he got her a custom-made sardine box due to her love of sardines.

“It’s just a giant tin sardine box. It’s really cute. I loved it,” Kunis explained. “I was like, ‘I do love sardines!'”
