Bone Lake
Let the euphemisms commence. Horror flick Bone Lake, also dubbed an erotic thriller, finally has an official trailer. Hailing from production company LD Entertainment and distributor Bleecker Street, the film sees two couples engage in a battle for their lives. And with taglines like “Winners Come First” and “You Better Have a Safe Word,” the marketing for this movie is clearly leaning into the seductive aspect of the narrative.

About the Film
Here’s a synopsis for Bone Lake per Bleecker Street:
“A couple’s romantic vacation at a secluded lakeside estate is upended when they are forced to share the mansion with a mysterious and attractive couple. In this darkly hilarious and seductive horror story, a dream getaway spirals into a nightmarish maze of sex, lies, and manipulation, bringing terrifying secrets to light and triggering a bloody battle for survival.”
The movie stars Maddie Hasson as Sage, Alex Roe as Will, Andra Nechita as Cin and Marco Pigossi as Diego. Mercedes Bryan Morgan (Fixation, Spoonful of Sugar) directs from a screenplay by Joshua Friedlander. Friedlander also serves as a producer.

This isn’t the first time horror has incorporated genre-bending elements like sex and eroticism (Exhibit A: Gerald’s Game). The trailer leans heavily into this in the first half before a descent into blood-soaked mayhem. It’s not a particularly innovative plot progression, but I’m curious to see what kickstarts the horror part of the story.
Bone Lake will scare up theaters on October 3, 2025. Before you go, check out the official trailer below.
