1962: Mani is born in Crumpsall, north Manchester.

Early 1980s: After leaving school at 16, he forms the band the Fireside Chaps with John Squire and Andy Couzens. After some name changes and bringing in Ian Brown as frontman, they become The Stone Roses – playing their first official gig in 1984.

1989: Their debut, self-titled album The Stone Roses is released – featuring breakthrough tracks “Fools Gold” and “I Wanna Be Adored”.

1990: The Stone Roses play their infamous gig at Spike Island in Widness, to a crowd of 27,000 (although countless thousands more have subsequently claimed to be there!)

1994: Second Coming, the band’s long-awaited second album, is released.

1996: The Stone Roses split up, then Mani joins Primal Scream – who he plays with for 15 years.

2005: Mani also joins three-man-band Freebass, with New Order’s Peter Hook and Andy Rourke from The Smiths.

2011: Mani leaves Primal Scream to join The Stone Roses reunion – playing festival sets and stadium shows before the band disbands again in 2017.
