A stunning and larger than life new tribute to Donegal’s rich history has been unveiled at Lough Eske Castle.

The hotel yesterday unveiled an 18-foot wood carving of Red Hugh O’Donnell, carved from solid Lebanese Cedar, in a special ceremony led by founder Pat Doherty OBE.

Celebrating one of Donegal’s most iconic historical figures, the sculpture carved by Gintas Poderys, honours Red Hugh O’Donnell’s enduring legacy and deep connection to the landscape of Lough Eske.
