Police investigating the attempted murder of two people in Bangor, Co Down, on Christmas Eve have released new images of a 54-year-old man they are seeking in connection with the incident.
Two people, a woman in her 50s and a man in his 20s, were injured in the incident at Chippendale Avenue, when a man armed with a hammer and knife entered a residential property and assaulted them.
He fled the scene on foot, still armed, the PSNI said.
The two people who were injured have since been discharged from hospital.
The PSNI this afternoon released an image of the man they wish to speak to, pictured in the Coniston Road area at around 3.55pm on 24 December.
Superintendent Lindsay Fisher said a number of searches have been carried out at different properties.
Police say they believe the suspect was wearing a navy blue jacket with the brand name ‘Helly Hansen’ on the back in white.
He is described as being around 1.77m (5’10”) in height, with short dark hair and was also wearing blue jeans and dark trainers with white soles.
Supt Fisher said people should not approach the man, but should contact police immediately.
