Waterford business owners and elected representatives have expressed disappointment that a recently updated national rail ‘prioritisation strategy’ appears to omit an upgrading of the Waterford to Wexford railway line.
The railway line connecting Waterford to Wexford and Rosslare was closed in 2010, but has been maintained since then by Irish Rail. The recently published All-Island Strategic Rail Review has been criticised for appearing to show that the line no longer appears as a priority for government.
