The past 12 months have flown in for Becca Mehigan and Dave Kearney in the blink of an eye, and suddenly their son is one.
Becca and Dave’s, who tied the knot in June 2023, lives changed for the better on December 28, when they welcomed their little man, Zach Michael Kearney, to the world.
Reflecting on the year since they welcomed Zach, Becca sweetly spoke of how it has both softened and strengthened her, as well as broken her down and rebuilt her.

Becca shared a gorgeous black-and-white snap that shows her and Dave celebrating Zach on his first birthday, holding a birthday cake.
‘One whole year of loving you,’ the mum-of-one wrote. ‘People told me the days and nights could feel long, but the years would pass in a blink. I never quite believed just how fast it would go.’

‘This year cracked me wide open — breaking and rebuilding me, softening and strengthening me, showing me every emotion under the sun, and giving me a love so enormous it’s hard to put into words,’ she continued.
‘The best day of our lives was the first day of yours. Happy first birthday, little man. You have taught us and given us so much in such a short time. We adore you.’

Another adorable snap shows little Zach in a party hat on his first birthday, perched on the floor beside a big helium balloon shaped as the number one.
Not only has it been a big year for their family, but both the Mehigan side and the Kearney side have welcomed adorable new additions over the past 12 months.

In October, Becca’s cousin, Mark Mehigan, welcomed his first child with his wife, Doireann Garrihy, a baby girl named Rosie.
And on the Kearney side of things, Dave’s brother, Rob, welcomed his second child with his wife, Jess Redden, a son named Ross, whom they named after his brother, who tragically died as a child.
