A LARGE quantity of suspected cannabis with an estimated value of more than half a million euro has been seized in county Limerick. 

Gardaí are investigating the discovery of the drugs with an estimated street value of €540,000.

Members of the divisional drugs unit based in Henry Street garda station seized the drugs at a residential property in Carraigkerry, near Newcastle West, yesterday (Tuesday, December 30, 2025). 

The drugs will be now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

No arrests have been made at this time and according to gardaí, investigations are ongoing.
