Emmerdale spoilers follow for the latest episode on streaming, which will air on TV tonight.
Emmerdale has aired another twist in the dramatic human trafficking/exploitation storyline, as Ray Walters makes a bold decision after his evil mother Celia Daniels asks him to do something perhaps more unforgivable than he’s ever done before.
Earlier this week, April Windsor learned that Ray and Celia have been forcing Bear Wolf into slavery and tried to free him. Celia witnessed this and asked her son to kill the youngster, while she deals with Bear.
In the latest episode, Ray told love interest Laurel Thomas that he was moving away from the village, although kept it quiet that it was to start the criminal enterprise somewhere with less heat on him.
In response, she told him she “really likes” him and that she’d love for them to be together properly, leaving him speechless.

Later on, April went to meet with Ray under the pretence that she just wanted to see if he needed a hand with anything, while in reality she was going to attempt to free Bear one more time.
However, he shocked her with a “late Christmas present”: the bottle of vodka and other evidence from the time she killed the perverted Callum in self-defence (or at least that’s what she thought).
He told her they would bury the evidence, leave things all in 2025 and make a fresh start.
In the woods, April noticed Ray was digging way too big a hole for what they needed to bury, and that the bag he brough along was empty. She asked him what was going on, and he pulled out a knife on her, telling her: “I’m sorry, but it’s over.”

April tried to cry and plead for her life, and make out that her disappearance would lead to too much police attention, before smashing the bottle on Ray’s hand and running away.
He caught up with her again in the night time, and April tried a different tactic, pointing out that Ray isn’t like Celia, as she asks him to do awful things without caring that it cuts him up inside.
In the end, he changed his mind, stating: “I can’t do this, not anymore. I want a different life.”
Ray told April to run and not come back, because Celia will not stop until April and all her family are dead. But with Bear still in captivity, and April not wanting to leave her family, how will things play out?
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
