When Aydan Nix discovered she had two of the world’s most famous sisters, Gigi and Bella Hadid, she didn’t know what to expect. But what she found was welcome, warmth, and real connection.

In a new essay for The Cut, Nix described her supermodel sisters as “warm and generous,” noting they made space for her in ways they didn’t have to.

Nix, 23, is the daughter of real estate developer Mohamed Hadid and Terri Hatfield Dull, stemming from a brief relationship the two shared more than two decades ago.

While she didn’t grow up alongside Gigi, 30, Bella, 29, or their brother, Anwar, 26, she says the bond formed quickly once they connected. She shared that Anwar immediately called her his “baby sister,” while Bella affectionately refers to her as her “twin.”

Beyond emotional support, Nix credits her siblings with helping her reconnect with her Palestinian heritage and guiding her as she launches a career in fashion after graduating from New York City’s famed Parsons School of Design.

To that end, sis Gigi introduced Nix to a trusted contact who recently helped her land a shiny, big gig as a fashion assistant at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

“I worked 17 hours that day. I was exhausted, but I had never in my life felt more fulfilled,” wrote Nix.

Still, she admits there are moments of grief over lost time with her famous sibs.

“They had a lifetime of memories,” she wrote. “And I felt like the odd one out.”
