Crystal Palace have snapped up Athlone Town striker Kelly Brady on a free transfer.
The 23-year-old joins the English Women’s Super League 2 side on an 18-month deal.
Brady bagged 26 goals for the midlanders in all competitions last year as they won a Premier Division and FAI Cup double.
She won both the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division Golden Boot Award and the Player of the Year Award, drawing big interest from clubs abroad.
Carla Ward called Brady up to the Republic of Ireland squad last November, where she joined Palace team-mates Abbie Larkin, Hayley Nolan, and Ruesha Littlejohn in the matchday squad for the fixture against Hungary.
Brady could make her debut for Sheffield United on Monday evening.
Palace boss Jo Potter said: “Kelly is an exciting young talent, and we are very happy to have her here at Palace.
“She’s coming off a great season, and her goalscoring ability is going to be a huge asset for us.”
Brady described the move as ‘surreal’: “It feels surreal to be here, I can’t wait to be involved in the great things the girls have been doing this season.”
