Tomorrow in Croke Park , Tooreen face Upperchurch-Drombane in a bid to secure the All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Final.

Tooreen is a small village in East Mayo and the success of its hurlers to date has brought great pride to the rural community.

Excitement has been building all week in the village of about 300 people ,  but particularly in the local primary school, Scoil Naisiunta  Brighde, where students and staff are all committed hurling fans and are cheering their side on with great enthusiasm and confidence.

Midwest Sport Editor Michael D McAndrew visited the school yesterday and spoke to the Principal Joe Dillon and the Deputy Principal Laura Greally, who’s married to a team selector. He also chatted to  to  some of the students.

He also heard some of the song and music they have compiled  for the big occasion…
