EastEnders fans have said that they ‘haven’t forgotten’ as the ongoing Ravi Gulati storyline took a ‘devastating’ twist on the BBC soap.
Aaron Thiara has had a week to forget on Albert Square, with him accidentally attacking his own son Nugget after being spiked. Ravi suffered hallucinations of his dad Nish Panesar, who tormented him growing up.
Nicola and Harry Mitchell spiked Ravi in an attempt to get revenge after he kidnapped Harry last year, which resulted in the death of Okie and Teddy Mitchell going to prison. On top of this, Harry had to go to rehab after turning to drugs while in captivity.
Harry and Nicola decided to take action after noticing that Ravi was walking around Albert Square without a care in the world on the BBC soap. In reality, Ravi is working as a police informant for his rival Jack Branning.
Viewers were desperate to see what happened next after Tuesday night (January 13) saw Ravi arrive at the Mitchells’ door with a baseball bat after realising who was behind him leaving his son in hospital.
In scenes aired on Wednesday night (January 14) Ravi began to smash pictures in the Mitchell’s home as Nicola and Harry refused to back down against him. Trying to talk Ravi down, Nicola managed to phone George, who she is expecting a child with.

Admitting to the Mitchells that their actions ultimately led to Nugget ending up in hospital, Harry jumped at him as a fight unfolded. With it clear this isn’t the end of Ravi and Harry’s feud, Priya Nandra-Hart, who Ravi locked in their flat, managed to get there just in time to break things up.
Once they were back home, Ravi expressed how sad he was that he almost killed Nugget. However, Priya informed him that Nicola is pregnant and his actions could have hurt her unborn child.
With Nugget still in hospital, the end of the episode saw a distressed Ravi alone in their home as he began to self-harm by inflicting pain on a wound he received earlier in the night.
EastEnders fans rushed to X, previously known as Twitter, to have their say on Ravi’s storyline, with many of them unsure how they feel about seeing the villain being portrayed in a sympathetic light just months after the kidnapping storyline.
@RyanSoapKing25 said: “I suppose the one good thing to come from Ravi’s scenes tonight is at least he took a little bit of accountability whilst confronting Harry and Nicola. That doesn’t mean he deserves redemption or this MH storyline in general. Harry should’ve got this story. #EastEnders.”@lisavbf added: “#Eastenders tryna make me feel bad for Ravi, pushing this self harm storyline after everything he did to Kojo. Nah sorry you can’t trick me into siding with an abuser, that man is wicked bad.”
@Debs_1982 wrote: “People thinking that only now Ravi is getting a self harm storyline when we have all been watching this man self harm practically since he arrived through the form of self destruction and self sabotage #EastEnders.” @AmySian1993 posted: “Offt the final few seconds of #EastEnders with Ravi. more darkness for him incoming.”
@chelseasandrax commented: “It seems everyone has just forgotten what ravi did to harry and kojo and how he was using and manipulating a vulnerable man into moving dr*gs… #EastEnders.” @Debs_1982 stated: “Aaron is going to be superb, but this will be a powerful and triggering storyline for many I’m sure, especially how Ravi is displaying his distress and pain.”
