A brand new spin-off of The Chase has just been announced, and while Bradley Walsh and the Chasers we know and love are all back, this isn’t just another quiz show. The six-part series The Chase Around the World is something completely different.
The show will see six pairs of contestants try and track down all six Chasers, who are hiding in undisclosed locations around the entire globe.
The teams will arrive in a new location in each episode and they’ll have to solve puzzles in order to work out where the Chasers are. The last team to get to the Chasers’ hiding place in each location will have to survive a head-to-head with one of the famous boffins to stay in the game.
At the end of the season, the remaining teams will have to compete in the ultimate game of knowledge in order to win a life-changing amount of money.
It looks like this one is going to be along the lines of the BBC’s Race Across the World and Prime Video‘s 007: Road to a Million.

“This bold new take on The Chase combines quizzing with travelling and will test contestants’ knowledge like never before,” Bradley said in the announcement. “The Chasers are already famous around the world, so fans can look forward to seeing them ply their trade in some superb secret locations.”
The announcement comes alongside the news that ITV Studios is launching a brand-new label, Bright Entertainment, although the producers of the main show are still involved with this spin-off.

“What better way to launch Bright Entertainment — not only with the news of our inaugural commission, but a reimagining of one of the most successful television quiz formats,” Bright’s managing director Lily Wilson said.
“The Chase Around the World is a fittingly global evolution for an iconic format, developed and being produced by a great team. We look forward to launching the series later this year and it being the first of many more exciting formats to come.”
The Chase Around the World will air on ITV1 and stream on ITVX later this year.
