Mayfair is rocking again thanks to The Chancery Rosewood. The former American embassy is now a Jenga stack of marble, gilt and fine wood, the eagle on its rooftop holding court over Grosvenor Square. The hotel’s underground Asaya spa offers one of the most exclusive wellness memberships in town, capped at 50 members – an elite group of royals, CEOs and captains of industry (hotel guests are also permitted). The space is kitted out with Technogym’s new Artis Luxury line. There’s a Reformer pilates machine, free weights, a barre, and Sky Sports playing on a gigantic TV. Most insightful is the Technogym Checkup – a scanner that reveals everything from body composition to mobility and strength. Once the sweating is done, there is the spa to enjoy. London’s finest pool – a rare 25 metres – is bordered by daybeds that you’d be forgiven for falling asleep on. There is also a sauna, steam room, ice bath, plunge pool and heated beds, the whole place a calm symphony of warm, golden-cream and marble tones. A visit is only complete with a stay at one of the House suites on the upper floors – think astonishingly spacious living and dining areas, full-height windows, a gargantuan bed you’ll be metaphorically chained to, and a bathtub that overlooks prime London real estate.

FOUR SEASONS HOTEL AT TOWER BRIDGE, The City
It’s a tale as old as time: gym at seven; desk at nine. Any finance bro worth their salt knows the best way to beat the grind is to unwind with a chest press or 12 before work, and where better for City slickers to get their fitness fix than the gym at the Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge? First-class Onyx equipment, behemoth shower cubicles in jet-black tile, and a changing room that looks like a spa in itself – the gym combines efficiency with class in a way that any young professional knows is sure to get you noticed by the powers that be. The whole place is awash with EC3, the signature scent crafted by Aromaria, and you can purchase shirts from Love Brand & Co and Vilebrequin board shorts, should you wish to vary those navy quarter-zips. The pièce de résistance, though, is what every hyper-focused financier secretly wants: a warm hug, an eye mask and a bit of pampering. Enter: the SAVA Sound Pod. The hotel was the first in Europe to offer this unique take on meditation, which has been the big name in wellness Stateside for a while now. (A familiar sight, then, for the American regulars at the hotel, who are no doubt nipping down from the Royal Garden Suite, with its private terrace, or the Grand Heritage Suite and its 16-foot ceilings, for a spot of relaxation.) You lie down in the warm embrace of the Sound Pod with a weighted blanket, listen to a soundtrack masterminded by Hans Zimmer, and let the pod vibrate you to some much-needed R&R. The perfect wind-down.
