RTÉ has confirmed that it has returned a painting worth €60,000 to a gallery in Dublin.
The piece by Gerard Dillon was given to Taylor Galleries on 18 December.
The gallery claimed ownership of the work last year.
‘Kitchen Interior with Seated Woman’ had been in the organisation for at least four decades and was displayed in RTÉ’s Company Secretary’s office.
RTÉ Director General Kevin Backhurst told the Drivetime programme in October last year that the broadcaster was trying to find paperwork to confirm its provenance.
