Residents of villages in South KIlkenny opposed to a proposed windfram in the area say they wont be sitting back.
An Bord Pleanala is now reviewing an application by Manogate Ltd. to put up 10 wind turbines on a site in Ballyfacey, between the existing windfarms at Ballymartin and Rahora.
Concerned locals have been active in their campaign against the turbines with over 100 attending the latest public meeting in Glenmore Community Centre last evening organised by the No2Ballyfasy windfarm group.
Councillor Jenny Catt Slattery outlined to KCLR news what happened at the meeting: “It was about a bit of fundraising, what they’re going to do.”
“They’re also there and they’re having clinics to help people fill in their submissions and how to do it and they’re going to be in Glenmore and in Mullnavat.”
“They have different dates online there and you can contact any of them and they’ll tell you and they’re going to help people if they’re not sure how to do it and really just informing people of where they’re going, where the turbines are going to be, where the boroughs are going to be for them and then how they’re getting there, which is through Ballynooney.”
