Minister of State Alan Dillon will attend an historic event in the Erris region this noon time.
The milestone decommissioning of the final turbine at the BnM Bellacorick Wind Farm at 12 noon today will mark the completion of the full lifecycle of Ireland’s first commercial wind farm.
The event will take place at the Bellacorick Wind Farm Visitor’s Centre.
The decommissioning of Bellacorick forms part of the wider development of Oweninny Wind Farm Phase 3, Ireland’s largest onshore wind farm.
