The Apple AirTag is the versatile tech accessory I never knew I needed. Case in point: I always throw one into my check-in luggage, and the Bluetooth tracker has helped locate lost keys on more than one occasion.

And now, in 2026, Apple has introduced the second generation of AirTag with the same design, but improved range up to 50% further away, upgraded Bluetooth connectivity, louder speaker for easier location and other new features. And best of all, it’s the same price: $29 for one and $99 for a four-pack. Learn more about Apple AirTag 2 here.

However, since Apple is rolling out the new AirTag, the previous model (released in 2021) is on sale to clear inventory. Right now, you can save nearly 30 percent on a four-pack, which goes for $69.99 (reg. $99) on Amazon — about $17.49 each.

If you don’t want multiples, you can snag a single AirTag on sale for $25.99 (reg. $29), or 10 percent off the list price, on Amazon. I recommend you pick up the four-pack instead because each AirTag is cheaper than a single tracker and you’re more than likely going to want more than one.

In my use, the Apple AirTag first-generation is a sleek and easy-to-use Bluetooth tracker that’s ideal for iPhone users. If you use an Android smartphone, I’d recommend going with the Tile Bluetooth Tracker instead. The original AirTag is lightweight at 11 grams, while the newer model is slightly heavier at 11.8 grams. However, both are virtually unnoticeable in use, especially when on a keychain, in luggage or attached to a remote control.

The Apple AirTag syncs seamlessly to iOS devices via the FindMy app, as it treats the tracker like just another Apple product that you own — such as a iPhone, iPad or AirPods. I also found AirTags to be extremely accurate and precise when trying to find a lost item.

Apple AirTag 4-Pack Apple

From keeping track of lost luggage and backpacks, to finding misplaced keys and wallets (or even wandering kids and pets), the Bluetooth-enabled trackers are among the best tech gifts for travelers, high-tech gear lovers and forgetful loved ones.

Apple iPhone users will love the easy one-tap setup that connects the AirTag with their smartphone or Apple iPad. Simply use Apple’s Find My app to track the device (using the “Play Sound” feature to enable the chime), share it with another iOS user or turn on “Lost Mode.”

Apple uses Ultra-Wideband technology and anonymous and encrypted data to triangulate AirTag locations. Per the tech company, the device “sends out a secure Bluetooth signal that can be detected by nearby devices in the Find My network. These devices send the location of your AirTag to iCloud — then you can go to the Find My app and see it on a map.”
