A Wicklow woman and a woman from Ukraine are both proof that true human connections can transcend barriers and friendship can be fostered even when those obstacles seem insurmountable. Cultural, linguistic and social differences so often keep people apart, but somehow, Cora Pocock and Tatiana Fylymonivna found a way to bond, despite not being able to even talk to each other.
The common thread between them, in the first instance, was the universal language of music which doesn’t need shared a vocabulary. And it was the team at the Bray and North Wicklow Area Partnership (BNWAP) that recognised this when they established a new cross-community, multinational choir in September last year and put the word out that it was looking for new members.
