Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale star Natalie J Robb has explained Moira Dingle’s shock prison attack drama. In Friday’s (30 January) episode, the police unearthed two bodies on Butler’s Farm, and it will have huge ramifications on the Dingles.
In next week’s scenes, Moira will be arrested and charged with the murders of Celia Daniels and Anya Berisha. Viewers know that Moira is innocent, but the case against her is strong due to previous attempts to frame her by the villainous Celia.
In upcoming scenes, Cain goes to visit his wife in prison and is shocked to find her in the visiting room sporting a massive black eye. As per our Emmerdale insider, some inmates had decided to turn on Moira, and Robb has also weighed in about her character’s ordeal.
“She’s going to cope,” said the actor. “She’s going to have to stick up for herself because, when word spreads in prison that you’re going to be like a modern slaver, you’re gonna get people obviously taking offence to that.”

“She’s going to have to prove herself as well in prison,” she continued. “So I think you’re going to see the odd black eye and grazed knuckles and things like that with Moira but she’ll always fight back.”
On whether Moira is likely to make any friends or allies in prison, Robb said: “Maybe, I don’t know. Not as of yet. I mean, she laughs about one that’s called Badger. She thinks she’s the top dog, or top Badger.
“She’s the first one that gives me a black eye. Every time Cain comes to see me, Moira’s got a different bruise on her. But she’s like: ‘It’s fine, don’t worry about it. It’s the way it is in here, you know that.'”

Speaking about being in prison and being separated from her family, Robb said that Moira ultimately doesn’t know what is going to happen to her, and it’s the uncertainty that causes her great distress.
“It’s the unknown that’s really scaring her,” she explained. “Not knowing what’s going to happen and how long she’s going to be in there for. And slowly I think she’ll resign herself to the fact that she could be in there a lot longer than she first thought.”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
