There was some Kerry pride at the 68th Annual Grammy awards in Los Angeles last night with Killarney’s Ruairí O’Flaherty amongst the winners in the ‘Record of the Year’ category.

Ruairí, a senior master engineer at the acclaimed Sterling Sound studio in the United States, was part of teams that received four nominations at this year’s awards.

He, amongst many others, won for his work on the Kendrick Lamar and SZA track which took home the prestigious Record of the Year award on Sunday night.

As well as winning in this category, Ruairí also received credits across several of the ceremony’s most prestigious categories, including Album of the Year nominations for GNX by Kendrick Lamar and Man’s Best Friend by Sabrina Carpenter.

He was also associated with Record of the Year nominations for “Manchild” by Sabrina Carpenter.

In his role as a mastering engineer, Ruairí plays a vital role in shaping the final sound of recordings, working to ensure that the final product is of the highest possible audio quality before it is released.

Over the course of his career, he has also mastered music for a wide range of internationally renowned artists, including Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X and Doja Cat.
