Singer Alex Warren has spoken out after his doomed Grammys performance.
The annual music award show took place in Los Angeles on Sunday night (February 1). History was made with Bad Bunny becoming the first Spanish-speaking artist to win at the event, and Brits such as Olivia Dean and Yungblud also scooped up awards.
But we all saw several chaotic moments, including Cher’s blunders and singers making expletive-filled speeches. Sadly, Alex fell victim to major tech issues during his performance.
The Best New Artist nominee took to the stage to perform his viral smash Ordinary, but viewers quickly spotted that something wasn’t right. Warren appeared to battle with his in‐ear monitors throughout the live broadcast, with fans commenting online that the audio seemed out of sync as he tried to stay on track.

The singer has now addressed the audio issues directly on Instagram. He posted a clip revealing the distorted, delayed sound he said was playing through his earpiece during the performance, giving fans a clearer idea of what he was dealing with on stage.
He wrote: “When you’re performing at the Grammys and all you hear is this in your ears.” Warren quipped in the caption: “This would only happen to me…”
Speaking on the red carpet, Warren admitted that his recent success has changed his outlook. The Bloodline hitmaker – whose songs are inspired by worship music – quipped to People: “I had to delete all of my DMs the minute this all happened. There were like 400 of them. There’s probably a restraining order. I don’t know.”

Meanwhile, Warren previously confessed that his music knowledge is limited. The singer explained that he was actually making a conscious effort to improve his own knowledge of other artists.
He told the Guardian newspaper: “Everyone’s always asked me [what music] I know, and I’m like, ‘I have no idea who these people are and I wish I did.’ So I’ve been really trying to put myself out there and like other music.
“I’ve been listening to a lot of albums – that’s something I wasn’t doing before.”
Warren admitted to being a big fan of Charli XCX’s Brat album, which featured the singles Von Dutch, Apple, and 360. He said: “I liked it a lot. I was like, ‘Wow, I’ve never listened to music like this before,’ from start to finish. It’s been interesting.”
Warren has also been surprised by the impact of his own music. He explained: “I’ve realised after playing live shows that these songs are helping people. I think that’s important.”
