Elephants are one of the smartest species on the entire planet. They’re probably smarter than us in most ways, to be honest. They know exactly what they need to do, and they get it done.

Apparently, they also believe in “work hard, play hard.” When a small group of elephants was given awesome dinosaur socks for their trunks, they were beside themselves! They couldn’t resist having fun:

The Preserve is home to a few elephants. They run in the family; though the facility has only been open since 2018, the business owner’s family has a rich history with these gentle giants. Their parents were elephant trainers!

They have three elephants on the property right now:

  1. Kitty, born in 1967: always sticking her trunk in everbody’s business.

  2. Rosie, born in 1987: known as “the chatterbox.

  3. Becky, born in 1987: adores bath time.

All three of them love to play around, and they sometimes make art for people who come to see them!

Though they don’t say how the girls got these awesome dinosaur trunk socks (sleeves? Warmers?), they’re glad they have them. They loved curling their trunks and flexing their spines! These girls were definitely dinosaurs in a past life.

In this life, they’re agile queens. Just watch Kitty’s epic move when she’s performing one of her infamous “investigations!”

She’s the kind of old lady I want to be. Always in everybody’s business, ready to play around, hoping not to get caught being nosy. It’s the dream life!

Elephants Are Very Playful

Elephants might be one of the smartest species ever, but they’re also one of the silliest. They have a lot of energy in those massive bodies of theirs!

In the wild, there are a lot of ways elephants like to play, like:

  • Straight up having the zoomies.

  • Playing with actual toys (in zoos, balls. In the wild, sticks.).

  • Spraying water at each other.

They love goofing off. These sweet elephant socks are just another way for them to flex their funny bones!
