Emma Watson has gagged an Oxford bicycle shop to stop it revealing the secrets of a recent ‘party on wheels’ she hosted at her home, The Mail on Sunday can reveal.

It is believed that the Harry Potter star, who has swapped acting to study at Oxford University, hired more than a dozen bicycles for friends from the shop, covering the wicker baskets with flowers for the occasion.

The group – dressed in white linen suits and dresses, with some sporting wide-brimmed hats – posed for a photo in front of Ms Watson’s Oxford home, which was decorated with an elaborate floral archway.

Earlier this month, the MoS revealed that the star had bought the nine-bedroom mansion, which boasts a sauna and jacuzzi.

However, it has emerged that the 35-year-old, who rose to fame as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films, insisted all bike shop staff sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) to stop them revealing any details of the day.

Nevertheless, the floral arrangements led locals to claim that Ms Watson was hosting a wedding for a friend, possibly a woman who stood out from the all-white group in a floaty pink dress. A taxi driver was also heard mentioning ‘a bride’ to an onlooker.

A source said: ‘The team were all asked to sign non-disclosure agreements so we couldn’t talk about who was renting the bikes or whether they were being used for a wedding.’

Ms Watson – who has also starred in Little Women and Beauty and the Beast – looked relaxed as she perched on her bike, wearing a white, short-sleeved dress and white trainers.

After the photos, the group cycled off in the direction of The Perch, a local riverside pub beloved by the actress.

It does not appear that Ms Watson’s new love interest was among the party guests.

The Dior ambassador – who is doing a master’s degree in creative writing at Lady Margaret Hall – was spotted last month on a date with a mystery man in Port Meadow, Oxford, where they enjoyed al-fresco painting.

She was previously linked to Kieran Brown, a former PhD student at Oxford.

Ms Watson also made headlines recently when she was banned from driving for six months for speeding.
