When Lewis Capaldi heartbreakingly stopped singing during his Glastonbury set two years ago, the singer’s life was turned upside down.

Lewis quit making music, pulled his remaining tour dates and stepped away from the spotlight altogether.

As he worked to get his mental health back on track and dealt with his Tourette’s Syndrome, some of Lewis’ pals kept in touch and supported him through his down time.

And while Elton John and and One Direction star Niall Horan were there for him, other celebs claimed they had done the same thing too.

However, Lewis has now revealed that a few people had bare-face lied about their support during his hiatus from the music industry and branded their deceit “weird“.

Speaking on Hits Radio, the singer who is loved by many around the world said: “The day after Glastonbury Elton phoned and said it was wise to take a break. I knew he had my email but I didn’t know he had my number so he must have for it from management or something.”

He continued: “Niall obviously [was in contact]. We’re in a group chat so I speak to him quite a a lot. But some people said they checked in on me but did not.”

Keen to protect their reputation, Lewis added: “I can’t name and shame, but it was bizarre… really weird.”

But in a remarkable comeback gig, Lewis took to the coveted stage once again two years later.

And he now says he is doing “much better” and is no longer using the antidepressant drug Sertraline.

He continued: “I’m not on antidepressants anymore.”

The singer’s comeback single titled Survive reached the top spot.

And speaking about his track during a live stream with fans he said: “It was f*****g hard to get off it. You could say I survived getting off Sertraline but let’s not get into that. This is happy stuff, I’m trying to share less.”

He added: “I’ve felt the best I’ve felt in a long time through therapy. I think I will always be an anxious person, accepting that’s always going to be there for me is a big thing. It’s about how I respond to anxiety.”

This comes after Lewis recently confessed that American singer Justin Bieber “ghosted” him after they had spent a night out on the town together.

During an interview with Capital Breakfast, he told show host Chris Stark that the pair had exchanged numbers during their wild night out but Justin ignored his message the following morning.

He admitted: “It was amazing, there was famous people, Charli XCX was there, Justin Bieber was there. Justin Bieber comes over and said ‘hey man, what’s going on?’ And I said, ‘you don’t remember my name?’ And he said, ‘of course I do, you’re Lewis Capaldi.”

He continued: “Me and Bieber had this super night together, like really lovely evening together. We didn’t spend the night together, but we hung out and I’m like ‘me and the Biebs are gonna be best pals, this is huge.”

Believing that they had created a bond, Lewis said: “And he’s like ‘man make sure I get your number tomorrow’. And I was like ‘me and the Biebs, this is huge’. I text him maybe the most sucking up his a*** text. I said, ‘Just wanted to jump on bro, last night was so special, great guy, so nice to hang out with you, such a dude’, blah blah all this stuff.”

But things took a slight turn for the worse as he did not receive a reply – and is still waiting for one.

Lewis added: “He likes it and doesn’t reply. So if you’re out there Bieber, wherever you are, text me back please. Bieber aired me.”
