Kerry generated the second highest amount of wind energy in the country last month.

That’s according to figures from Wind Energy Ireland (WEI), which published its monthly wind energy report today.

The Kingdom produced over 10.6% of the country’s wind energy, just behind Cork at 10.8%.

Eighty-fourgigawatt-hours (GWh) of energy were generated in Kerry, compared to 85 GWh in Cork

Wind farms provided 24 per cent of the country’s electricity last month, totalling 786 gigawatt-hours, slightly up from June’s figures.

The report also stated that wind energy has generated almost a third (31%) of Ireland’s electricity in the first seven months of this year.
