Percentage of people backing Government’s stance jumps eight points since 2023

A slim majority now back the Government’s move to soften the Triple Lock on sending Irish troops abroad, according to an Ireland Thinks poll.
However, the figure of 44pc was only three points higher than the 41pc who believe Ireland should not change the policy, while 15pc were “not sure”.
