As many as 370,000 Irish people could be involved in romantic relationships with an AI chatbot – and up to 500,000 could be open to one! When I first heard those numbers, extrapolated from a survey carried out by Censuswide for Pure Telecom, last week, I thought it said there were 370 people involved romantically with a chatbot and I still thought it was incredible.
Thirteen per cent of men and 7pc of women surveyed are or have been in a relationship with an AI-generated persona.
