Rape survivor and activist Hazel Behan has installed CCTV at her home and contacted gardaí following the release of her suspected attacker, Christian Brueckner, from a German prison last week.

The German national had been serving a seven-year prison sentence for the rape of an elderly woman at her home in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in 2005. He was released on Wednesday with an electronic tag. He is also the prime suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
